Hymn Submissions

Each print issue of Lutheran Forum includes a new hymn, laid out for easy copying and congregational use. We are interested in new texts set to old tunes, new tunes using familiar texts, or entirely new tunes and texts together.

All hymn submissions should be sent by email to the hymn editor, Sally Messner, messner at lutheranforum dot org.

All hymns are subject to editing. Please include any information you know about copyrights on old tunes or texts if you are using either.

As copyright owner of the creative work, the hymnwriter grants Lutheran Forum one-time, non-exclusive rights in the United States and Canada. This permission is granted for all editions of the publication, including print, web, and audio editions, as well as future media. All rights to the creative work remain my property. Lutheran Forum grants permission for congregations to reproduce the hymns for local use only. All other requests will be referred to the hymnwriter. After the hymn has been published by Lutheran Forum, it may be submitted for publication elsewhere, provided that its original publication in Lutheran Forum is noted.
